E4 Computer Engineering SPA was established in Scandiano (Italy) in 2002 to develop and produce hi-tech solutions (Cluster High-Performance Computing, Cloud, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure) for the Academy and Enterprise markets. E4 collaborates with international research centres (Cineca, CERN, ECMWF, LEONARDO) on major HPC and AI projects (EuroHPC JU EPI, EUPEX, Horizon Europe, ECMWF) and explores future scenarios to find practical and innovative solutions for complex computational requirements and new application environments, anticipating technological change and providing reliable solutions in sophisticated contexts. E4 has EMEA revenues of €18M (and growing) with 50+ employees and is starting up (2021) in Germany (Munich) with an expanding team


As part of its expansion program, E4 Deutschland is looking for a Technical Pre-Sales Specialist (future Team Leader) who will be responsible for technical-economic qualification of sales opportunities, management and verification of compliance with the technical requirements of tenders, organisation and delivery of POCs and demos to customers, relationship with vendors/partners for technical updates


This is a new position. The ideal candidate will be fluent in German (native speaker or equivalent) and English, and have strong Linux/HPC technical skills and pre-sales expertise The ideal candidate will be able to take on the future role of Team Leader following the planned team expansion


The position will report to the EMEA Pre-Sales Manager (Italy) and will operate primarily on a smart working basis, and be present in the company offices (Munich & Italy) and at customer sites as required


  • Full tecnhnical knowledge of the products portfolio with acquisition of certifications
  • Technical-economic qualification of sales opportunities
  • Management and verification of compliance with the technical requirements of tenders: checking technical/product specifications, identifying systems that best meet customer’s requirements
  • Technical configurations for new opportunities
  • Organisation and delivery of POCs (Proof of Concept) and solution demos for customers (Germany and DACH region)
  • Drafting of technical reports accompanying the commercial offer
  • Relationship with vendors and partners for technical updates
  • Participation in the presentation and study of new vendors


  • University degree in science/technology subjects (or equivalent skills)
  • Fluency in German (native speaker or equivalent) and English. Knowledge of Italian will be considered a plus
  • Technical expertise: implementation and management of Linux and HPC systems, handling technical offers and tenders
  • Some of the following skills (listed in descending order of importance):
